Batting and Fielding Order Plus

Batting Card Spreadsheet

Last Updated: May 17, 2011

Attached are Batting and Fielding Spreadsheets for the 12U, 10U and 8U Boys Divisions. Each form is slightly different so make sure you download the one that applies to your division. ALL spreadsheets have the same three tabs located at the bottom (Team Info, Bat Field Order & Batting Order). Before using the form you'll need to go to the Team Info tab and fill out the form, specifically the player name (Last, First) and that player's uniform number, the team number and the team sponsor. The team number and sponsor will automatically populate the headers for all of the tabs. Only the GREEN text can be updated. All other information is locked so that no formulas are deleted by a mistake. Each form is made to accommodate 13 players. If you have less, simply use "N/A" for the player name and uniform numbers that do not apply. The real power is in the "Bat Field Order" tab. Only fill the form in the top left as all the other forms are set to equal that form. First, set your batting order by clicking on the cell for the first batter. This will give you an arrow to the right side of that cell. Select the arrow and all players’ names will drop down. Select the player you wish to bat in that part of the order.  As you place each player in the batting order their name will disappear from the drop down list until all batters are positioned. To remove a player, just click on the cell and hit the delete or clear button. You can also highlight the entire column of players names and delete as well.  Now they are back in the drop down list again. You'll notice the uniform number automatically associates to the player name as long as you filled in the Team Info tab correctly. Uniform numbers can only be changed in the Team Info tab. Now, to the right of the player's name you'll see 6 columns with headers 1 thru 6. These are your innings. Again like the player names, select the cells and give that player the fielding position you'd prefer them to play in for that particular inning. This varies for each division so see the differences below. Just as with the players’ names, as you assign a position, that position disappears for the remainder of the inning so that only one player is assigned to a position per inning. Like the players' names, you can delete cells or entire columns and make changes as you need to.  You now have 4 copies of your batting/fielding card that can be printed out, separated and distributed to your coaching staff. Finally, if you look at the "Batting Order" tab, you'll see that is also filled in to match your staff's cards but doesn not include the fielding positions.  This is just for distributing to the opposing team's score keeper. Print, separate and distribute. Enjoy!!!

Boys 12U: In this division, there are only 9 defensive positions and there is only one center fielder versus a left and right center fielder as in the 10U and 8U division. You'll notice there are 4 "SIT" fielding positions for this division assuming you have 13 players. If you have less, you won't use as many "SIT" positions.

Boys 10U: In this division, there are 10 defensive positions and there are two center fielders; left and right center field as opposed to just the center fielder in the 12U division. You'll notice there are 3 "SIT" fielding positions for this division assuming you have 13 players. If you have less, you won't use as many "SIT" positions.

Boys 8U: Just like the 10U division, there are 10 defensive positions and there are two center fielders; left and right center field as opposed to just the center fielder in the 12U division. You'll notice there are 3 "SIT" fielding positions for this division assuming you have 13 players. If you have less, you won't use as many "SIT" positions. Unlike 12U and 10U, the 8U division mandates a player cannot play a specific inning for more than 2 innings for the 6 inning game. With this very unique spreadsheet, if you try to assign a player to the same position more than twice in a given game, the cells for that player/position combination will highlight RED. This is a warning to go back and correct your mistake.

To download, right click on the link(s) below and select "Save Target As".  Save the file to a location you can find again and then open with Microsoft Excel.  If you are using Office 2010 or newer you may need to "Enable Editing" in the yellow bar at the top of the file before being able to edit the information.
